Electric toothbrushes include a wide range of features but are an environmental catastrophe. Manual toothbrushes however, remain highly disposable and lack meaningful features to improve brushing technique.
Loop Toothbrush solves these issues with an easily replaceable head, pressure sensitive neck and a smart base with timer function.
A loop of silicone provides the frame for the replaceable brush head. The material gently expands to allow for installation. A carefully controlled combination of flexible silicone and rigid plastic counteract excessive pressure from the user.
A smart base provides timer functionality. With the toothbrush removed, the base illuminates red signalling the beginning of the brushing period. The base remains illuminated for two minutes and thirty seconds. Thirty seconds is provided for the application of toothpaste whilst the remaining two minutes is the recommended length of time to brush. Once the time has passed, the base illuminates green, indicating that the toothbrush can be rinsed and returned to the base.
RFID technology enables detection of toothbrush placement and removal.
